After having brake noises on the drive across the states I finally had a chance to crawl under the jeep. I had a bearing. replaced just before heading out and it seams one of the pins that hold the break in was left off. I called the Jeep dealership in Fairbanks to see if there was one in stock, Well there wasn't, nor was there one anywhere in Akaska. The part had to be sent up from the lower 48. I could only hope we would reach Fairbanks at the same time. After packing up this morning, and skipping our shower here in the campground (we planned on a long soak in the hotel just 3 hours away). We ate a great breakfast at the Sourdough Cafe. and then discovered we had a dead battery. One of the staff soon made it over to jump start us and we were off. After a 4 hour drive we made it into Fairbanks and headed straight to the Comfort Inn. We were told our room was broke. They sent us to a Super8 (that is "just as good").:NOT. We declined the free lodging. returned to the Comfort Inn and they found a Bed & Breakfast for us. This B&B was made from passenger railroad cars. This place was the most unique place we have ever stayed. www.aurora-express.com The part for the Jeep arrived and dealership fixed. We are on our way.
That looks really neat! My youngest would love it, I'd probably never get him out of there. From, on Jun 20, 2010 at 08:27PM
